Verizon is attracting the wrong kind of attention

Verizon has a new commercial where the whole ad is based on the slogan "half-fast" internet. This double entendre is repeated over and over again.

The entire commercial's dialogue has various people, mostly families, including a mother in front of her child, saying half-fast instead of half-a$$ed.

Verizon should be more responsible in their marketing decisions. Let them know that as a parent and a consumer you are offended that they care more about their financial gain than what impression they are making on our children. Verizon executives apparently don't care about what children hear as long as it puts money in their pockets. Everyone knows kids repeat what they see and hear. This is weak marketing, and Verizon should have the corporate responsibility to not use an age old euphemism that offends families.

Take Action

Please send Verizon an email letter requesting they cancel their new "half-fast" commercial immediately!

As a parent and a member of OneMillionMoms.com, I am greatly disappointed in Verizon's "half-fast" commercial and how your company chose to promote your internet product.

The "half-fast" ad repeats this double entendre over and over again with various individuals, mostly families, including a mother in front of her child. Verizon is fully aware saying half-fast sounds like half-a$$ed, which is weak advertising. Your company can do better.

Does Verizon desire for children to have dirty mouths? I believe Verizon should have the corporate responsibility to only produce non-offensive advertising. Where are Verizon’s standards?

Verizon may have thought it was humorous to use an age old euphemism, but it is not cute when children will learn to say this phrase. Everyone knows kids repeat what they see and hear.

Please pull this commercial immediately! If the ad continues to run as it is, then I will not feel comfortable purchasing Verizon products.

I look forward to hearing from you regarding my concern.
