ABC Has Not Let Up So Neither Will 1MM

ABC's newest sitcom "The Real O'Neals" is described as "just your typical all-American, Catholic, divorcing, disgraced, law breaking, gay family" and continues on to say their family is "a perfect mess." The program continues to air on Tuesday evenings at 8:30/7:30 p.m. CT.

"The Real O'Neals" mocks Christianity and insults Catholicism. 1MM recognizes this show ridicules people of faith, and Christians across America are offended by it.

Almost every scene is filled with s-xual innuendos, implications, or mockery of faith. (A dash '-' is used to bypass internet filters.) It is impossible to list them all, so here are a few scenes from the past episode:

  • Mother tells family, "We should go to church and take communion and burst into flames."
  • Mother says to gay son, "Coming out is terrifying; you are very brave."
  • "God Box" is family's emergency kit full of Catholic items to display around the house for last minute visitors or uninvited guest.
  • Catholic grandmother is described by her children and grandchildren as a Catholic gangster while she walks around everywhere with her Bible and rosary.
  • Gay son enjoys when grandmother describes pickles.
  • ABC network refers to this highly dysfunctional family as "the perfect Irish-Catholic family."
  • Foul language.
  • One of the show's producers is anti-Christian bigot Dan Savage, and the show is said to be loosely based on his life.

I am highly disappointed to learn from One Million Moms that your company sponsors ABC's "The Real O'Neals" on Tuesday evenings at 8:30/7:30 p.m. CT.

"The Real O'Neals" mocks Christianity and insults Catholicism. 1MM recognizes this show ridicules people of faith, and Christians across America are offended by it.

I certainly hope your company's financial support of this type of television programming through advertising is simply an oversight.

Please let me know that you have ordered your advertising off "The Real O'Neals" and all programs that make a mockery of the Christian faith.
